
Shana Carter, MS, APRN was born in Rutland, VT. She received her RN from Montana State University and her MS at Creighton University where she received the Constance Smith-Peterson Award for the Advancement of Nursing Theory and Practice. She is dual certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a member of the Sigma Iota Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She has a strong interest in obstetrics and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In addition to colposcopy, she is certified in ATLS, ALSO, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. She was also the co-developer for the “Births R Us” Lamaze program. She developed the annual Johnson County “Think Pink” Women’s Health Fair and “Kids Count!” Health and Safety EXPO. In the past she has also enjoyed writing a weekly health column for the local newspaper and is currently in the United Way Medical Reserve Corps. She is married and loves her busy family practice at the Cozad Community Medical Clinic from obstetrics to babies and all ages!
